Technician Diploma in Engineering (2565 – 02)

General

The Technician DIPLOMA in Engineering may be obtained in any one of the following specializations:

(i) Technician DIPLOMA in Applied Mechanical & Electrical Engineering – PLANT TECHNOLOGY

(ii) Technician DIPLOMA in Applied Mechanical & Electrical Engineering – MECHATRONICS

(iii) Technician DIPLOMA in Applied Mechanical & Electrical Engineering – DESIGN & MANUFACTURE

 

A. For all the 3 above options, there are 6 common core modules that have to be done, namely:

(a) Engineering Fundamentals 2 

(b) Computer Aided Communication 1 Practical Assignment

(c) Mechanical Principles

(d) Engineering Drawing Practical Assignment

(e) Electrical & Electronic Principles  

(f) Computer Aided Draughting 1 Practical Assignment

The Core Modules will take 46 weeks under a 3 sessions per week schedule.

 

B. For those taking the PLANT TECHNOLOGY option, they should do the following additional modules and Assignments:

  • Plant Technology and TWO Plant Technology Practical Assignments
  • Plant Installation and Maintenance and ONE Practical Assignment

This module will take 28 weeks under a 3-sessions per week schedule. The course will start on 7 Oct 2014 and end on 23 May 2015

 

C. For Candidates choosing the MECHATRONICS option, they should do the following additional modules and Assignments:

  • Mechatronics Systems Technology
  • Analogue and Digital Techniques and TWO Practical Assignments

This option will also take 28 weeks under a 3-sessions per week schedule, starting on 7 Oct 2014 and ending on 23 May 2015.

 

D. The DESIGN & MANUFACTURE option will be offered to candidates after completion of the first batch of Plant Technology and Mechatronics options. The  time tables for this option shall be submitted at a later stage.

 

COST & EXAM PAPERS

For the Technician Diploma in Applied Mechanical and Electrical Engineering – Plant Technology

Candidates will have to take 5 written exams in  (a) Engineering Fundamentals 2, (b). Plant Technology, (c) Plant Installation and Maintenance, (d) Mechanical Principles, and (e) Electrical and Electronics Principles

PLUS 12 Practical Assignments

The cost per participant is Rs 75,000.

 

For the Technician Diploma in Applied Mechanical and Electrical Engineering – Mechatronics

Candidates will have to take 5 written exams : (a) Engineering Fundamentals 2, (b) Mechatronics Systems Technology, (c) Analogue and Digital Techniques, (d) Mechanical Principles, and (e) Electrical and Electronics Principles PLUS 14 Practical Assignments

The cost per participant will be Rs 80,000.

 

Payment:

For part time students, payment can be made either in 10 equal monthly installments or if paid in bulk before start of the course, a discount of 5% is obtainable.

All the above fees include enrolment fee, tuition fees and course handouts but excludes the examination fees charged separately. They also do not include Late Entry fee, Enquiries About Results fee, Appeal Fees.
