Introduction
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health provides a sound introduction to the basics of occupational health and safety. The NEBOSH NGC covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. It is designed for managers, supervisors, and employee representatives and is ideal for anyone who wants to establish a career in health and safety. More than 100,000 persons currently hold this Certificate and either practice as Health & Safety Advisors within their companies in the UK or use this Certificate to gain entry to the Diploma course.

Eligibility
There is no strict requirement for enrolment to this course although it is advisable that candidates should have a reasonable command of English and some exposure to the world of work and above all a genuine interest in the field of health and safety

Professional Body Memberships
Successful completion of the NEBOSH Certificate satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the grade of Technician Membership of IOSH or Associate Membership at IIRSM.

Progression
The NEBOSH Certificate entitles you to exemptions from the NG1 units of the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management and the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety and Health as well as providing the perfect basis for you to progress onto the NEBOSH National Diploma or NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management.

Brief Course Outline
This course comprises 2 modules, namely Units NG1, and NG2.
Units NG1 and NG2 are taught units each assessed as follows:

NG1: Open book assessment

NG2: Risk Assessment Assignment

To achieve the NEBOSH National General Certificate, you will need to successfully complete the two compulsory units:

Unit NG1: ‘The Management of Health and Safety’,

NGC1 consists of the following elements:
Element 1: Why should we manage workplace health and safety
Element 2: How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
Element 3: Managing risk – understanding people and processes
Element 4: Health and safety monitoring and measuring

Duration: 29 Tuition hours – 22 Private study hours
Full time: One week (6 days) – Part Time: 3 months

Unit NG2: ‘Risk Assessment

GC2 consists of the following 7 elements:
Element 1: Physical and psychological health
Element 2: Musculoskeletal health
Element 3: Chemical and biological agents
Element 4: General workplace issues
Element 5: Work equipment
Element 6: Fire
Element 7: Electricity

Duration: 39 Tuition hours – 26 Private Study hours
Full time: One week (7 days) – Part time : 6 months

Examinations for NG1 and NG2 are held every month.

COST OF STUDIES

Cost for ATTENDANCE (CLASSROOM) VERSION for Local students: The All Inclusive MQA-Approved Cost consisting of Tuition materials, tutorial sessions, NEBOSH registration and exam fees, etc. for NGC1 and GC2 is Rs60,000/- (Rs27,000 for NG1 + Rs33,000 for NG2)

Cost for ATTENDANCE (CLASSROOM) VERSION for International students: The Cost consisting of Tuition materials, tutorial sessions, NEBOSH registration and exam fees, etc. for NGC1 and GC2 is GBP 1,200 (Excluding cost of board and Lodging, insurance, travel, etc.)
